Allen Stone Saint Louis reviews
Amazing as always!!
Allen put on an amazing show in Boston. I traveled far to see him again and it was worth it. The set was cut short, unfortunately. I noticed that because I had been to three of his shows before that night and he usually does 16 songs. He did 12 in Boston. I asked him why it was cut short after the show and he told me the venue double-booked. Boo to you, Royale. I will be doing more research the next time I plan on traveling to see him. The Royale is a nightclub, so they apparently care more about their club stuff than concerts they have. The show itself was wonderful up until the dance-off. I never liked the dance-off. I arrived at the venue way too early since I had come in from out of town (2:00 PM--doors opened at 7:00 with the show starting at 8:00). I earned my coveted front and center spot. So when my side finished dancing and I turned around to watch the other side dance and found a drunk broad standing in my spot, I was very upset. She basically humped me for the rest of the show, which is the only time I would ever say in regards to an Allen Stone show was THANKFULLY only three more songs. It would have been five more songs if the set hadn't been cut short. Most people seem to love the dance-off, so I am sure Allen will continue to do it throughout his career. I'd rather it was cut out. I completely missed those last three songs (Satisfaction, Tell Me Something Good and Unaware) as a result of desperately trying to tune her body rubbing up on mine out. Thanks to the drunk broad and the set being cut short, while Allen was incredible and his backing band was tight, this was the worst of the four shows I have seen of his. I would say, for the future, if a show has to be cut short due to double-booking, maybe don't do the five minute intro where Allen isn't singing. Again, I would cut out the dance-off. That's ten minutes right there between those two things, which would have been enough time for two more songs to be done. I can't complain because overall I had a great experience, having seen Allen before the show and he remembered my name, which I wouldn't expect considering how little we have interacted, but is really surprising considering how many people he meets all the time. I love Allen and his magical voice and I will travel far and wide again to see him. I cannot wait to see him again!
